Tips for decorating tweens rooms

Give them a place to put posters. Tweens are notorious for wanting to hang posters and pictures all throughout their room, which can lead to holes in the walls from tacks or peeled paint from sticky tape. The solution? Create a place in their room for them to hang what they want. Add an oversized cork board and let them have at it.

Create a study space. It’s important to give your tweens a space to study and work on homework assignments so that they build good study habits. Give them a space in their room with a desk.

Add an area rug. We all know kids can be quite noisy.   Add an area rug to help soak up some of the sound, especially if you have hardwood or tile floors. An area rug is also a great way to add color and a pattern to their room. Let them shop with you and give their input on what they like.

Plan for the future. It’s inevitable that as your child ages, he or she will want to make changes in their room. Invest in key pieces of furniture that will grow with them and then let them pick out room accents and accessories that can easily be changed out as their style evolves.
